"About Fifty Shades of Grey"

It's always interesting to see the translation of a book onto the big screen and this 50 shades of Grey business was by far the most anticipated. Anastasia's character played by Dakota Johnson was the most transparent. The movie captured every obvious notation of her awkward, plain-jane and timid persona. Now Mr. Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) was the most interesting character that I couldn't wait to pick apart on screen. In the book, I often wondered what's this guy's angle? I even tried to figure out his exact emotions and facial expressions while reading his dialogue.

Aside from his crazy sexy obsession to her, I loved seeing this dominant character break. The scenes of silence or just him staring at her said a thousand words. Just fill in the blanks. I must be honest I wasn't prepared for my reaction of the very last scene where she was punished. I was actually covering my eyes. The movie overall was satisfactory. I can't say that they didn't do a great job visually delivering the contents within the book. However, I think those who are listening to the hype of how great the book was and actually hasn't read all three editions will feel robbed. They won't quite get what we thought was so graphic, over the top and great. Especially the cliffhanging ending, leaving you on edge. Just as the book did. What will she do? Will she come back? Is it over? Pick up '50 Shades Darker' if you already haven't and find out.
