Oh Hey Ya'll!

Yup! I'm back on my Sister Act 2 ish. After my #PositiveVibes post on Wednesday, I just had to investigate what some of the cast members were up to these days. And here's what I found!

Ryan Toby (Ahmal)

Ryan has been focusing on his music career these days. As you all may have seen him with the group, City High and their smash single, "What Would You Do?" Although the group has since disbanded, it opened doors to a solo album in 2003. You can find (Ahmal) in the studio writing, singing and producing. Tanya Blount (Tanya)

We could never forget the soulful voice of Tanya singing alongside our girl Lauryn Hill with "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." She has since appeared on "The Family That Preys" soundtrack and released a Christian album in 2011. She is now apart of a duo with her husband, Michael Trotter Jr titled The War & Treaty. Their next showcase will be held in Tampa, Fl on March 26th.

Devin Kamin (Fran-Kay) But where he at doe? So aside from appearances on a few tv series and another movie Impact Point. My man Fran-Kay has gone away. Well...with the exception of this one Jack in the Box commercial that aired last year on truTV. (Random) However, there's a little buzz on tumblr about his song featured on Sister Act 2, in the background of this scene.

Apparently the song, "It's Me Again, God" was from a demo that went ghost after the movie.

Monica Calhoun (classroom kid)

Now y'all know Monica has come a long way from the classroom kid in Sister Act. If you don't know her from the right hook after sleeping with Diamond's boo in the 'The Player's Club.' You definitely know her as 'Mia Sullivan' from 'The Best Man' and 'Best Man Holiday.' She had a lot of press for 'Best Man Holiday' last year as we cried our eyes out at her funeral. I still cry every time I see it 😒

Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Mary Fake) LOL I'm sorry, one of my favorite lines from Mr. Crisp. Lol. You know Whoopi has graced our presence since '85' in "The Color Purple, " so it's no surprise that you can catch her on the scene. You can find her on 'The View' as a co-host putting the gloves on for whoever's opinion is ready to get it.

Last, but not least...

Lauryn Hill (Rita Watson) *sigh* Man oh man, the things I've been reading about my girl Lauryn. Coming to shows late and canceling them. Although hearsay, she's still trying to get out there and tour. She just recently made an appearance in Boston last month and I've seen some pretty decent reviews. Nonetheless if she's Rita Diva with the attitude or flaking shows. She's still Lauryn Hill and with that being said, it's hard to deny the love for her timeless music!
